Expanding The Project
July 19, 2008
I am considering expanding the project to include more books. I’m not set on the details, but I am contacting people who I would like to participate this time. Hopefully they will respond favorably.
I may try using Craigslist or a similar service to find some people nearby. If you’d like to participate leave me a message.
Also, I added a tool bar to allow Digg, Del.icio.us, etc., so if you like the project, tell someone!
An Update
July 17, 2008
I never doubted it, but this is a feast or famine kind of project. I haven’t heard anything, but then again it only takes one delivery from the mailman to have me drowning in material.
I am considering trying it again, with smaller books, to use, say, around my campus. I will update you about the progress of that.
The Project Is Officially Underway
September 27, 2007
What better way to break in the new blog then with happy news. The final book is on its way out into the world. I had always intended to send all the books anonymously (the first two were sent this way, so I have only the fact that they haven’t been returned as evidence that they made it), but it turned out that wasn’t feasible. Admittedly, though, I can’t complain. It means that I get to follow the lives of the last three books for a little while.
Today, I am happy to say, I got word from the fifth book’s Professor that she received the book and would contribute, then pass it on, this weekend. That is probably the last I’ll really hear about it, but it is good news in my book.
Also, to get everyone up to date, the third, given to a friend at my university, has had a few contributions (she’ll only give me hints as to what sort of contribution, though) and is now off into the ether. She wont say where. The fourth, given to a friend at Columbia University is on it’s way as well.
So the books are out and making the rounds. Now the question is, how long until I see them again?
